I have a close family friend named Joe who was involved in a freak accident six weeks ago that changed EVERYTHING about his life. He was taken by life flight to the hospital and he remains in critical condition. He was a busy Dad active in the lives of his 3 kids during the week and on the weekend you could find him riding his motorcycle in the country for some R & R. In an instant, that was gone. He has needed several pints of blood and it has become apparent to those close to him that the blood banks are experiencing a blood shortage. Children’s Hospital is a trauma center for children who have experienced a life threatening event and they treat children in need every day.
If you live in Northern California, please support this blood drive to help Joe. The blood drive honoring Joe is in Modesto, California on October 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4212 Dale Road, Modesto, California.
If you can’t make it out the the blood drive, please take an hour this week to stop by your local Blood Centers of the Pacific or Red Cross BLOOD BANK to give. This is something that we all can do and it’s a gift that changes lives. For Joe and the children at Children’s Hospital and all of others that need our help, let’s give.

Women Hate It When You Call Them Things Like “Darling” And “Babe” Around The Office
If you’ve got a female co-worker and you call her “babe” or “honey” or “cutie” . . . apparently, SHE doesn’t think it’s as kind and endearing as you do.
-According to a new survey of 3,000 female office workers in England, almost THREE out of FOUR think that pet names in the office are, quote, “unacceptable.”
-One out of four say that pet names make them ANGRY, and another one out of four say pet names are UNPROFESSIONAL.
-The survey was conducted by a market research site called OnePoll. They say, quote, “Guys may think they are being affectionate by calling someone ‘babe’ or ‘love’, but it seems women simply find them patronizing and demeaning.”
-The survey also found the top 10 nicknames women hate around the office, although some of
these are VERY British and don’t really apply over here.
-The top 10, in order, are: Love, darling, babe, mate, hun, kiddo, chick, dear, poppet and pet.
(–To Americanize that list, just replace mate with “sweets” and poppet with “jiggles” and I think we’d be set.)

–Obviously, that won’t help you get in SHAPE. But doing more HOUSEWORK might. Here are ten chores and how long you have to do them to burn 100 calories. Keep in mind that WALKING SLOWLY burns 100 calories in about 25 minutes.
#8) CHANGING THE SHEETS ON YOUR BED. 50 minutes.
#7) IRONING: 45 minutes.
#6) COOKING: 36 minutes.
#5) GENERAL HOUSE CLEANING: Just picking up around the house burns 100 calories in about a half an hour.
#4) VACUUMING: 26 minutes.
#3) SWEEPING: 22 minutes. And mopping burns even MORE calories because you have to deal with the heavy bucket of water.
#2) GARDENING: 20 minutes.
#1) MOWING THE LAWN: To burn 100 calories, you only have to do it for 14 minutes. But obviously, that’s only if you have a PUSH mower, not a RIDING mower.

Hello My Sweet Friends,
I wanted to explain the inspiration behind this video. I had learned about two women with breast cancer that were going through a really hard time. They both have kids and they both have lost their jobs do to fighting their illness. Now that their insurance has also run out, they have no way to pay for their treatment and medication.
Someone I know was planning on auctioning off a guitar that Carlos Santana autographed and giving the proceeds to the two mothers. He asked if I would do a photo shoot with the guitar so that the highest bidder could also receive some pictures of me with it.
I then decided to just make a whole fun day out of it and since the centerpiece was the guitar from Santana, I wanted to keep it all in a “rock theme”. That’s why I wore a Kiss bikini and used an ACDC song. The whole shoot was about being sexy but having a rock attitude. The title of the video sums up the project. Although it’s awesome to occasionally live it up and party like Rock Stars, some special days have a deeper meaning behind “WHY WE ROCK”.
